Have we been demonized as Mormon apostates? Let us count the ways.
My new favorite, though, is Prophet, Seer, and Revelator Russell M. Nelson calling us "lazy learners" and "lax disciples"...on Easter Sunday no less! ?
What the heck. Let's embrace it.

This candle transports you to a ratty old hammock in the tropics. You've got no worries, nothing on your mind. Life is salty sea spray and a freshly cracked coconut in your hand. You swing side to side, and you lose yourself in a haze of laze.
If you "struggle to muster even a particle" of giving a flip, this is the ex-Mormon candle for you.
SCENTS
Burn the "Lazy Learner" candle when you want to zone out and go to a more carefree space in your mind. The sea spray and coconut really do take you right to the beach.
• Top Notes: Sea Salt, Ozone, Pineapple Rind
• Middle Notes: Palm Leaves, Jasmine
• Base Notes: Fresh Coconut Milk
CANDLE INSPIRATION
On Easter Sunday 2021, the Lord's mouthpiece on Earth spoke directly into the camera and told our families that we were "lazy learners" and "lax disciples".
Of course, demonizing Mormon apostates is nothing new.
I think all of us have been told at one time or another that we were deceived by Satan, that we chose to get offended, that we just wanted to sin, that we knew deep down the church was true (but had so little integrity that we chose to leave anyways), that we were "unruly children"... There are so many more.
We've even had Apostle Jeffrey R. Holland call us taffy-pullers, but that's a tale for another candle!
QUALITY + SUSTAINABILITY
All ExMo Candles are hand-poured in small batches, and each of our recipes is tweaked and tested before coming online. We take pride in the quality of our candles.
Our candles are also vegan-friendly, made and packaged sustainably, and pthalate-free. Our commitment to sustainability includes a partnership with One Tree Planted, where we donate the money to plant 100 trees for every 100 candles sold.
Finally, the removable labels on our jars make them easy to upcycle. Woohoo!
DISCREET PACKAGING
We know that you might be living with members of the church, or heck, that your mailman might be Mormon. For that reason, we've chosen not to brand our outer packaging in any way. No one will be able to tell from the outside of the box that you've ordered anything related to being an ex-Mormon. This includes the shipping label, which will simply say it's from Jen + Adri.

My husband is an ex-mo and told me about the “lazy learner” incident, so when I saw this I had to get it for him. The scent is better than I expected, light for a beach scent, and the candle is obviously very good quality. What really got me was the “signs and tokens” packet that was unexpected. It was the first thing my husband pulled out and his reaction told me that this also meant something, which just added to the fun! We’ll likely buy more.

Ha! I’m so glad he got a kick out of it, and I’m thrilled you like the candle itself, Jen! And yeah… Lazy learner… Sighhhhhhh!

A fresh take on the classic lazy day at the beach scent! I love the notes of pineapple and jasmine, and the coconut is creamy and yummy. My husband came into my office and said, “wow, it smells really good in here!”
Jen –
I’m so glad you and your husband both like it, Julie! You must both be extremely lazy learners and lax disciples! People who can muster even a particle of faith never like this candle 😉

Smells absolutely amazing. Ever since the “lazy learner” talk my husband and I have joked about it so having it in candle form in my kitchen every day as reminder is the best. Very high quality candle. Also love it came with matches.

These are truly the best smelling candles I’ve ever had!! Such cute and earth-friendly packaging, and long burn time. I like to light the Lazy Learner while working late at night on my dissertation, haha

This means a lot, Laura! Thank you for saying such nice things! And, hehe, good luck on your dissertation, ya lax disciple!!!

A clean smelling candle that I loved to light with a sardonic smile, fully claiming the title of lazy learner as an ExMormon.
Jen –
Shame on you for not being ashamed because of this insult from, sniffle, the Lord’s one true prophet on the earth today! I bet you’re a lax disciple, too! Hehe… I’m glad you like it, Mallory! Thank you for leaving a review!

I keep this one with the lid off (I know it’s against the candle rules!) in my bathroom.
It’s the perfect beachy scent.

Hehe, my mother-in-law says she likes to know the rules so she can make sure she’s breaking them 🙂 I won’t report you to the candle honor council, I promise! So happy you’re enjoying this scent!
